Record Numbers Come Out for Return of 5k

More than 700 people were at St. Joseph Home Saturday May 21 to celebrate the return of the Incline to the Finish Line benefit run, which raised more than $40,000. More than 500 runners of all ages tackled the notorious uphill climb to the finish line on Wyscarver Road, including 19 residents supported by their family teams. Other residents completed the 1K Walk & Roll route through our on-campus Green Space.

President and CEO Dan Connors thanked everyone for turning out, surpassing all expectations. He added, “We’re thrilled we can all be on campus together again for what is truly a St. Joseph Home community celebration.”

Thanks to the 5K Committee including, Missy Cronin, Anna Ehlerding, Unique Felder, Lain Geis, Detoya Humphrey, Tammy Jackson, Andrea Jones, Pat Kneip, Lauren Lohmann, Charyce McCants, Ashley Muse, Erin Shull, Barbara Scull, Sue Tasset, and Pete White, and to the selfless and generous team captains. And Don Connolly, veteran race coordinator and his team made sure everything ran like clockwork.

In addition, family members, friends, community leaders and schools turned out to volunteer, helping with everything from preparing and handing out packets for the runners, to giving out water and encouragement along the route, to staffing the breakfast tent after the event.

VP of Advancement, Jordan Huizenga, said, “Thank you to all the generous sponsors for supporting resident teams and underwriting the water stops, breakfast and so much more to make this event a success. We’re grateful for your belief in our mission.”
